The tooth fairy was busy over the holidays, Conor, Freya, Emily and Danielle lost teeth over the break.

I hope everyone had a wonderful, relaxing holiday. We are now heading into a very busy time of the year. The first term report card will be going home mid-February. The students are expected to be reading between level 8 and 11 by that time. It is important that your child reads and practices the word wall words daily. In writing, student are expected to write 3 sentences that make sense and are beginning to use capitals and periods correctly. In Mathematics, student should be able to name and recognize 2D shapes. They should be able to count to 100 by 1’s, 5’s and 10’s, and to print numbers to 20. The children should be able to add and subtract to 10 and to explain and show how they got their answers. The children should be able to create, name and extend simple patterns and use math language to identify the patterns. The children should be able to tell time to the hour.

- body systems – heart and lungs
