- We are continuing to work on making connections this week. The students are showing real interest and skill in making these connections. They are noticing common themes in texts and to their own lives. We will also begin to work on visualizing, “making a picture/movie in our head” as we read
- We are learning how to make words using sounds and common patterns
- Be sure to practice reading nightly
Writing
- Word Wall Words – fun, I, it, jump, kick – try to come up with rhymes for the word wall words
- Capitals, punctuation, and leaving spaces – still a challenge!
- Learning to use describing words to make our writing more interesting
- Naming 2D shapes and identifying the attributes of shapes
- Sorting and classifying shapes based on specific attributes (number of sides, corners, points, types of lines)
- Lines of symmetry – finding lines of symmetry in shapes
- Making 2D shapes using a variety of materials
